Intro:
Everybody loves firework displays, 2-12” shells flooding the sky in pretty colours, but there is a lot to consider. However, don’t worry we are here to guide you and provide all the information you’ll need to know to pick the right package for you and have the best firework display possible.
Self-Fire Firework Display
With our fireworks displays, you could split it into two sectors – self-fire and professional fire. A self-fire fireworks display uses Cat 3 fireworks instead of Cat 4. Self-fire displays are best suited to budgets of less than £1000. Due to the average cost of cat-4 fireworks and professional fire being at least £150 per minute of display, with budgets under £1000, it’s better to go for a big cat-3 self-fire display.
For self-fire displays, the planning process can still work the same. For example, we still help you design your fireworks display and pick the right fireworks for your needs. On the day, it comes down to you instead of a member of our team. You can sync it up using one of our fuse linking kits if preferred. These allow you to sync fuses from each firework and time your display so you don’t have to keep lighting the fireworks and remotely fire them.
With the self-fire fireworks displays, it is down to you to collect and set up your fireworks as no members of our team are on site. It is also down to you to check with your venue to make sure it is allowed and to adhere everyone to safety distances etc. Furthermore, you are not covered by our public liability insurance with self-fire displays.
The displays can cover all sorts of budgets. For a 4–5-minute display, we can estimate £400+. This will change depending on the length of the display and the fireworks included. These budgets can go as high as you wish however we would advise a Cat 4 professional display if your budget is above £1000.
Professional-Fire Firework Display
When it comes to a professionally fired fireworks display, we use mostly all Cat 4 fireworks with some professional Cat 3 depending on the display and the budget. When it comes to planning the firework display, we work with you to bring your vision to life. We take responsibility for ensuring your venue is happy with a display and for notifying authorities.
With our professional displays, we require budgets of £1000+ however that is the smaller of budgets, which will get you smaller shell fireworks and only one firing position. These displays are good and definitely, a great way to celebrate an occasion such as a wedding or party. For bigger firework shells such as 6”+ you’re looking for a general budget of £275-300 per minute of display. Needless to say, you can still have some bigger shells in smaller budget displays but it wouldn’t mainly be big shells. The size of the shells may be restricted depending on the venue for the display. The safety regulations for display fireworks is 1m per 1mm of firework shell diameter. For example, for a 100mm shell (4”) there will be a 100 meter safety distance.
If you want a professional firework display from Rocketman Fireworks, you are covered with our £5 million public liability insurance. We also take the role of notifying the authorities. In addition, we also conduct a site safety visit and put together a risk assessment to ensure safety. Finally, your display is fired by our fully trained pyrotechnicians who have years of experience in the industry.
